EP. 9: The Manor

After many hours of traveling Vanessa and Dappert found their way
up a mountain along a neatly paved road.
They listened silently as the the rain fell to the ground 
and the lightning danced across the sky.

Stars would shine through the the thinner clouds alerting the two 
travelers that night was upon them.
They continued to walk for a few more minutes before being able to see a large
manor ahead.
Vanessa looked over to the manor before looking down at Dappert.

Dappert kept his head low and a grim frown plastered across his lips.
Though his stature still showed confidence and strength his face said it all.

Vanessa reached down and brushed back the hair from his face.
She reached for his blindfold but was stopped by a firm yet gentle hand on her wrist
Dappert still kept his gaze away from her as he grasped her wrist.

"I can tell you are concerned for how I may be feeling, but I'm just purely in deep thought...don't worry about me."
Dappert's voice was dark and distant, like it seemed to cling to reality.

"Dappert, if you need to get something off your mind, you can tell me."
Vanessa reassured him her voice lased with concern.

Dappert gently moved his hand from her wrist to tenderly entwine his fingers
between the gaps of her own delicate hand.
He held her hand keeping his gaze along the road ahead of them.

"When we get to the manor we will be safe...nothing can reach us there...not even Val'dorn."
His voice was determined and anxious but Vanessa thought nothing of it.

Vanessa leaned down once more gripping his hand tightly she placed a delicate kiss on his cheek.
